qashqade 26.1.0: Easier reconciliation, better usability

In this article

Release 26.1.0 centres around several usability features and improvements to the screens. qashqade’s new re-con feature enables the user to easily compare and explain differences in waterfall runs. Proceeds Events give administrators controlled and auditable discretion over how realizations are applied in the waterfall. Alongside this, the release adds an improved Workbook Builder for reporting and index-based metrics in the calculation engine.

Run comparison

When two runs of the same waterfall deliver different results, Run Comparison shows why, based on the actual data and logic and not only on the logs. It highlights differences in input data, in waterfall logic and in output results, so you can quickly see whether setup or data is the reason. Essentially it allows for reconciliation and gives you an audit trail, without lengthy manual analysis.

New event type – Proceeds

Proceeds now allow you to handle realizations or valuations as events, so no external accounting system is needed. Fund documents often give the GP discretion to distribute realizations more conservatively than the strict allocation rules require, for example to protect LPs’ profit on weaker-performing assets. Proceeds Events bring this discretion into qashqade, so it is exercised in a controlled and traceable way instead of off-system.

Directly from the event, admins can create or update proceeds transactions, set the realization percentage applied in the waterfall, reallocate proceeds between associations and define how they are rerouted. Control values can be reviewed before the event is finalised. The Step Creator also now supports conditions on transaction fields, so reroutes and holdback releases apply only to the transactions intended.

Reporting: Workbook Builder

The new Workbook Builder combines the output of several reports into one Excel workbook, so a complete, client-ready pack can be produced in one go. Workbooks can include an optional cover sheet, carry a Draft or Ready status, keep a history of every generated version and are protected by separate access rights.

Indices Management

Apart from the existing possibility for an index upload (e.g. interest averaged over days with transactions), the user can now create and define indices on the system itself. The result: transparency on how exactly these indices are calculated as they’re not just uploaded. Indices can be used in multiple places – in reports (columns), interest configuration (within step creator), and in the metrics set-up.

Also in 26.1.0

The release also includes security updates and a number of bug fixes.

Several usability enhancements were added to the release. For example, the Vehicle – Transactions screen has been reworked to show more relevant information with less scrolling. The option of not showing empty columns improves usability. Partner screens now list all partner groups the partner is assigned to. Vehicles can be added to the application via data load.

Private Markets Technology: Buy or Build?

In 2023, we made the case against building private markets tech in-house. That case still holds but AI has changed the calculus. We revisit build-vs-buy through a 2026 lens, and add a dimension our original piece didn't cover: the compliance, operational, and LP-facing risk that any build must own.
