As part of our new content series "Behind the Waterfall" we shine a light on our team at qashqade, building the future of private markets. First up: Peter Vass, CEO of our Hungarian office.
What initially drew me to qashqade was the opportunity to join a company where someone I respected was already working. Beyond that personal connection, I saw the chance to contribute to something that was still evolving — a space where I could grow alongside the company. The idea of helping shape a highly specialized solution within a complex industry was particularly appealing.
In a field that can often feel abstract, we’re building solutions that make a real difference in how our clients manage complexity. There's something motivating about seeing how even a small implementation decision can have ripple effects on transparency, efficiency, and accuracy. qashqade doesn’t try to be everything to everyone — instead, it focuses deeply on solving a very specific set of problems with precision. That focus, combined with the level of expertise the team brings to the table, creates a kind of quiet confidence in the way we operate.
The blend of technical challenge and human impact is what keeps it interesting. On the one hand, you have complex financial logic — waterfall models, for example — that require deep precision. On the other, you’re dealing with structures that affect incentives, relationships, and long-term outcomes.
There’s a clear shift toward greater transparency and control. GPs are becoming more sophisticated not only in how they structure their funds, but also in how they communicate and justify those structures to LPs. As models become more nuanced, the tools supporting them need to keep pace — not just in terms of functionality, but in usability and auditability as well. Technology is enabling this shift, and I think we're just at the beginning.
What excites me most is seeing how our approach scales. We're building something that isn't just solving problems for individual clients, but starting to shape best practices across the industry. That shift — from solution provider to quiet standard-setter — is subtle, but it’s happening. And being part of that is incredibly rewarding.
