In this edition of Behind the Waterfall, we spotlight Sol Hernández, Senior Consultant at qashqade, who brings a dynamic outlook to private markets. From embracing new challenges to collaborating with a global team, Sol is helping drive innovation and deliver real value to our clients.
It actually happened almost by chance. I was looking for a new challenge after years of working in accounting firms and large corporations. I felt ready for a change and wanted to step away from the routine of big-company processes and move into something more dynamic, where I could keep learning and evolving. That’s when I joined qashqade, and I can honestly say I learn something new every single day from a very talented team.
For me, it’s the people. Working with colleagues from all over the world is such a unique experience. Even though we come from different cultures, speak different languages, and have different backgrounds, it feels like we’ve known each other for years. That sense of connection is key to working well together, and I learn from them every single day. It’s a truly rewarding experience.
On top of that, the product itself is impressive. Seeing how our system simplifies complex scenarios and then watching clients’ reactions when we show them what it can do, that’s incredibly satisfying. It feels great to be part of something that makes a real difference.
As I mentioned, I was looking for something new and more dynamic; a role that would challenge me and give me the chance to grow every day.
Private markets are fascinating because they combine finance, critical thinking, and problem-solving. It’s an area where you’re constantly learning and expanding your knowledge. Unlike the more routine work I did in the past, here every case is different. The constant need to adapt and think critically is what makes private markets so exciting for me.
The biggest shift I see is the growing demand for transparency and automation. Historically, private markets relied heavily on manual processes and spreadsheets; approaches that are time-consuming and prone to errors that are hard to track.
Now there’s a clear move towards digitalization and standardized solutions. It’s exciting to see how technology is transforming the way data is processed and understood in private markets, which is exactly the kind of progress we’re driving at qashqade.
Right now, we’re developing a new version of our platform that’s far more user-friendly and intuitive. The idea is to make it simple for anyone using the system to navigate and understand the information, even without deep technical expertise. It’s a big step toward making the platform more accessible and efficient for all users.
We’re also rolling out a new onboarding and training program for new joiners, which I’m really excited about. Through interactive videos, new colleagues will be guided step by step on how to use the platform in a clear, engaging way. Having a more structured, consolidated and interactive learning experience will make a big difference.
